In today’s session, we continued strengthening our Quran reading skills with more practice and a new concept.
We began by practising inverse dammah in words, building on what we had introduced in the previous session. Participants read several examples and focused on recognizing the mark and producing the correct sound while reading.
After that, we learned what a maddah looks like and how it appears in Quranic text. Once everyone became familiar with its shape, we moved on to reading practice with words containing maddah.
To reinforce everything we have learned so far, we also practised reading words that included maddah, tanween, vertical fathah, vertical dammah, and inverse dammah. This mixed practice helped participants recognize different marks together and apply their knowledge in real reading situations.
The deck we used is as follows:
You are warmly invited to join our next session on Learning to Read Quran. Our meetups are for women only and are designed to be supportive and beginner-friendly.
In the next session, we will be learning about blank letters and practising how they appear in words while reading.
We look forward to continuing the journey of learning together.
